And while SupCom has it's moment, I think SC2 is the better game when you look at the complete picture. So what's your point? 10 year olds fanboys make you rage?

Not really sure at what point you start being sarcastic there pavese, but I don't really see this big picture you are talking about.

With regards to the world being full of misguided fanboys, sure that is a fact.

However, the point of any discussion is to show a spectrum of people's views of some topic. Some maybe limited in how they are able to do so, some are very good at showing that they have been given an opinion without any foundation.

This means that the point of a forum discussing supcom vs sc is not to convince the sc fanboys that supcom is better than sc, but to show other third parties that both sides have a point. In the discussion in the link, only one side was represented by a bunch of 10 year olds. This was a huge missed opportunity to educate the third parties about supcom 5 years ago.

In general if people just say, "f*** it, the world is a failure", all sanity will be drowned out by idiots. It is not possible to out scream the idiots but the minority that is listening will hear.

This means that supcom players should not have missed(currently miss) their opportunities to let people know about the game.

But its impossible to get a real discussion on a dedicated Forum, especially from a Mainstream title. You can tell all the flaws of a game in such a forum, yet they will still defend it and not even care to prove you wrong.

If someone would be interested in SupCom he would ask in a SupCom Forum, not in a SC2 Forum. Also if this person can't filter out the BS from the valid opinions, he needs to learn how to use the Internet and Forums. If you want them to reflect themselves: open a thread "what is better: Broodwar or SC2?" and watch the shitstorm unfold.

Starcraft is a game of zero ambition but absolute polish. SupCom is a game of vast ambition but falls far short of its potential.

Choosing between 100% of 1 Litre and 10% of 10 Litres is largely a matter of preference.

If we really want to talk big, we need to use FAF to drastically change all the things that are deficient about SupCom, balance and polish everything to perfection, fix up the gaping holes in the UI, make every unit useful and unique, make factions balanced whilst giving them more variety, make pointless mechanics like Jamming and massfabs interesting and useful, fix up inter-tier balance and enginer spam, and make a good range of carefully tuned maps that provide great competitive play.

Once we have a supcom that has all of that, then we can start talking about "best RTS ever." Otherwise it's just a matter of taste.

(ps. I hate Blizzard btw. But I tell it like it is.)
