Hi guys,

I played SC/SC:FA a while back on GPGnet however I've long since lost my respective product keys + CDs. I'm hoping to repurchase the game on steam and am curious as to whether I need to also buy Vanilla Supcom. I know that FA is considered 'standalone', but I also remember that FA-only users were restricted to 1 faction in multiplayer. Is this still the case?

If you buy it on steam, I think you've got both for the same price.

If I can't check if you have supcom, how can it be mandatory on FAF !?

Oh ok, I misunderstood. I don't want to pirate it. I just meant technically do I need both or just the expansion. Like OP said, it used to be that you could only play sera with FA. I want to be able to play all races. I don't want to buy SC1 if I don't need to.

Currently on steam both are $20 or just FA for $15.

i have gold keys and in steam got both games, but I only launch FA, not vanilla. I would just buy FA to start.
