I wouldn't go on to say he sold his soul, but he did fail at restructuring Supcom 2. While I do believe that Square-Enix competely killed the whole purpose of what Supreme Commander was about, and by and large, a majority of the Hard-core Supcom players rejected the game, including myself. We shall see if Chris learns from his mistakes from Supcom 2 and makes Supcom 3 (whenever it gets announced) the game its suppose to be...but alas...who knows when or if they ever make it.

Btw...I would say that if Activision would have pick it up instead...THEN you could say he sold his soul...that company is the true Devil when it comes to Publishers.

I'm not seeing why you think he sold his soul? Is it because he wanted to make an RTS work on console?

I enjoyed the interview and thought he came across really well, even though I'd like him to make a SupCom 3 that was basically a shiny version of FA with all the improvements 2 brought to the table.

In my honest opinion, Supcom 2 brought very little improvements to the franchise...the only thing I could say was an improvement would be a less processor heavy engine and some graphical improvements, but that is the only improvements I really see. Don't like the how they designed the maps, the easy access to experimentals. IE: no longer being a special unit for the end of matches..I could go on about it, but I"m sure everyone on this forum know what they are. ;) Maybe one day can Chris Taylor will regain our trust again, but until we have details of a Supcom 3 or a competely different RTS on the same grand scale of Supcom....we'll just have to speculate and keep enjoying FA and FAF

I'll second all that Panchovilla, though I get the distinct impression that there won't be a supcom 3 after the relatively poor performance of supcom 2.

Its like my favourite tv shows, they all get dropped shortly after I get into them :(

He sold his soul not because of anything he said in the video. I liked the interview. It is because squareenix claims ownership rights over the video as you can see underneath the video on the right side. My interpretation is that Chris Taylor's interviews about supcom are now property of the publisher, which probably means he will never tell the truth about what he really thinks about supcom 2.

Ah fair enough TA, I get that.

Regarding the improvements from SupCom2 I meant things like UI improvements, formations, stuff like that. I wasn't suggesting there was anything major to take from 2, that's why I said I'd want 3 to basically be an updated version of FA :)
But yeah, it'd be a miracle if we saw a sequel anyway :(

Nothing wrong with that. Interrupting a good series for it, on the other hand? Not cool. Not cool at all.

You want to experiment? Start a new franchise, don't desecrate an existing one.

Why should rts be restricted to computer -_V_-??

Just because you don't have the imagination or technical ability to make it work better on console doesn't mean its not potentially the way forward in the genre.
