There is a s[E]rious problem with favoritism around FAF

I have complained in the past about things to do with EQ mod, problems with E clan having a lot of people in high places, etc.... Now I hear about Farms and Blackheart getting banned and freaking hell I am ticked.

Farms and Blackheart, not to mention others (I don't want to call out names because I don't want to remember wrong, it has been a while) have disrespected tournaments before, many times. It is one of the reasons that I have gotten rather sick of casting the FAF tourneys in general because the same bull crap happens all the time. My understanding is that they have both been banned for "fixing the tournament", and I don't know if that is because they both agreed to play with all labs, or one of them ctl-k'd for the other to win, or what happened, but THEY HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE!!!

I complained about it. There was 45 minutes of ranting across multiple streams, and I posted about it around #aeolus etc. I know that key people in faf heard me. Nothing was done about it.

They do that crap in an EQ tourney, and magically both of them earn a ban because Exotic Retard raised hell. I raise hell about THE EXACT SAME ISSUE and nothing happens. He gets his personal tourney disrespected, immediate bans. WTF!?!

Maybe I am reading this wrong, but I don't know, because there isn't a moderator action report in the forum on it, no documentation that I can find.

complaining to these mods will only make them hate you because you questioned their ego and their inability to take critcism. This community was much better with zep in charge instead of sheeo who is way more about himself than zep ever was.

A lot of people say that this was match fixing, throwing, rigging a game, etc

"Match fixing" is a term I assume people have taken from tournaments in other games. And i wanted to explain why i feel the use of it is wrong here. Match fixing is typically deemed malicious in games such as CS:GO because of back-end process such as betting. Keeping to the CS:GO example, a common case is to bet a lot of money/skins that you will lose a game, and then lose said game resulting in a large amount of payout.

FAF doesn't have that, there is no real incentive to losing a tournament game. (unless you want a certain avatar, but nowadays you can just reject the shitty winner ava and get a worse one anyways) One might say that they of two friends wanted one or the other to have the funds, but that is both a claim that has no proof, and an assumption that the two are stupid (if they played "normally" they could have just sent the other the money anyway)

I personally don't think this will unban the two, im not naive to how this joint rolls. Just wanted to clear up people trying to claim two friends having fun was something it is not.

But i see question raised "they didn't get banned for that before, why did they get banned now?" - that is an incorrect question. You should ask if person should get banned or not for certain actions... Prevous evasion of punishment should not matter.

Also how did they fucked a tourney before ?
Iirc you just went mad because they just exchange spot in game and put a mod to change color, but they did at least play the games. Which is different from just throwing the game.
And yes i don't understand the faf ban, a tourney ban + no money given would seems more appropriate.

As someone who does not participate in tournaments, and also generally has little knowledge about them, it would be nice to know:

- what tournaments you are referring to (not the eq tourney)
- what ruleset they had (Maybe it was against the rules in one tournament, and because people """""abused""""" it, it was changed afterwards in other tournaments.)
- how far in the past the other tournaments you are referring to are. People change over the course of time and with that their opinions and attitudes towards certain things.

Exotic did not instigate bans by himself in this case, it was a collective decision made by the full moderation team.

Regarding other tourneys where this has happened and your complaints weren't heard, I'm sorry to hear that--how did you report the offenses?

No tourney rules were broken and the TD had no issues with the two players doing what they did. Mod team cannot step in and punish people monetarily as that is my responsibility (for community funds) or the donor responsibility (for private). Mod team can’t really ban them from tournies for breaking a rule that doesn’t exist.

The bans were put in place for breaking FAF rules not tourney rules, hence the FAF ban.

Or is clarification on what rule, why etc available from the moderation team upon request?
