I don't know why this is still discussed. I'm closing the thread.

was that really necessary? you need more hard disk space on the server?
could you please move those kind of threads to the off-topic area instead.

Short answer : No.

Long answer : There is no point in debating what is out of line and what is not. Ask your parents if you have a doubt about it.

This kind of debate can only lead to flamming (it already did in that thread), and to moderation at some point (like it did).

If you REALLY want a place to debate that, don't use a game forum for it.

To the best of my knowledge, Ze_Pilot and the other moderators will not change their policy concerning little tolerance for using racial slurs in FAF. I fully support this very appropriate policy. Remember that there are children playing this game. FAF is not stopping you from using racial slurs in other social environments outside of FAF. It is completely within Ze_Pilot's rights alone to ban it in FAF. He decides, not Anaryl or rootbeer.

The thread was probably locked for that reason that it will not have any benefit to discuss it further, as it will not be tolerated no matter how much you discuss it.

That thread was simply becoming a place where prejudice against races, nations and individuals was being used frequently by Anaryl and perhaps by me and others in response to him.

I regret spending my time in that thread, it was pointless to try and win that debate as it was already won before it began.

Ok, i asked them. they said its generally good to debate.

If you REALLY want a place to debate that, don't use a game forum for it.

to be honest i have no urge to debate just for the fun of it. but if there is an incident that triggers it, it catches my interest.
the off-topic subforum is exactly the place do to it. thats why its called off topic.
i also prefer to communicate with ppl i have some previous association with, not complete strangers. that feels too artificial.
as for the flame war ... i dont know, i ignore those passages.
anyway, i have the feeling that there is benefit in off-topic discussion. we are not one-dimensional after all.
