Is this for real>? Are you really going to let one guy hold you and all of us players, (of which there are thousands) to ransom for a Facebook page that is barely used?

I mean seriously, its got 248 likes and barely any posts... I know people that get more than that for a picture of a cat wearing toast.

Please don't punish the players for an internal dispute that most of us do not care about, we just want to donate a few dollars, and play supcom with our friends on the best multiplayer platform that revived a great game and gave it the attention and stability it required.

The facebook page has more than 700 followers and was my main way to communicate with the community.

Anaryl was banned for whatever reason by an mod, and by retaliation, removed my rights to post on that page (I have nothing to do with the ban in the first place).

He is now taking that page as his ranting place, under the cover of being the voice of the community (because it obviously need him to be saved as we all know).

That affected me deeply to the point that I've decided to give up coding on FAF 2 months ago.

And today, he PM me basically saying that "he was nice, but could throw dirt at me if I don't un-ban him".

So yes, you are in a power war, that's dumb and sad, but I did not made this project for having these kind of troubles. I will probably stop it entirely if it continue that way.

All yours if you want it, just p.m. me. Just post the link around the forums and chat lounge and people will soon join this one rather than the other. If he wants to be a prick then just ignore him. If you want out completely then organize a hand over of the project, others will take up the mantle. But don't just roll over, give up, and hurt us all in the process. Ask for help if needed. Thats what a community does. Good luck.

Why did you give out your log in into on the facebook page? Have you tried contacting facebook to see if they will reset the password for you?

If you decide to walk away from faf would you consider releasing the source code since faf is the only real place for us to play FA these days since gpg.net went offline?

To be honest I feel that the people that have paid money to keep faf running ( yea I donated when this all started up ) should have some kinda say so in this. Yes we didn't spend any time coding but I fear that with out faf forged alliance will die off.

After this history i saw him in chat today (i don't know how it was possible that he can join).
So i banned him again.

I don't have the page back, and he is trying to looks good. That's how low he is.

It's a very sad day that the community and it's associated facebook community are being treated like disposable weapons with which to carry out your personal spat.

Rohan, you seem to want to take the moral high ground, in case this in unclear just relenting the facebook community page would be the moral high ground without the need for conditions.

Gaël, I fully understand your need to control the community page on facebook but your handling of this situation has been very poor, putting your fans hostage is not the way this should be working. FAF shouldn't be seen as your own personal little empire - is it a community project and we're all very greatful for the work you've done...that's why I donated to you very early on, but you need to make sure the servers are restored with haste.

If you can't come to an agreement, just set-up a seperate FAF community page, as has been suggested already and link to that in the lobby instead.
