FA vs. Vanilla and Steam Purchase vs. Amazon

Postby xBinary01111000 » 10 Dec 2012, 18:43

Hello all! This is my first post and I haven't played SupCom in awhile, but I think I should get back into it. I'm making this post because I want to buy a friend of mine FA but have two questions about the purchase:

1) Should I buy him the Steam or Amazon version? If I buy him the Steam version I think he'll have access to Steam's servers but will he have access to FAF as well?

2) For FAF do you need the Vanilla CD key to play anything besides Seraphim? Do you know if a Steam purchase of FA comes with the same CD key restriction on FA?

just buy it where it is either cheaper or more comfortable for you. You can both play Steam version and Shop version online via FAF, and you can even enter shop keys into steam. So if you care to save some money, buy it in some shop, and if you care for a fast delivery, get it on steam. To be exact, you dont need a game key at all for FAF^^ (but dont tell anyone)

One point is that you can't "out of the box" run 3599 with the steam version. If you have a lot of or have an interest in watching 3599 replays you shouldn't get the steam version.
