It's a new "drone" but looks very much like something from SupCom. How long before an ACU prototype is gonna be unveiled? Ofcourse they would probably have to crack nanotechnology before it could build anything

I can't really see the point though. Unless there are gonna be other robots to fight then it seems kinda wrong pitting them against humans

Yes there are serious moral and ethical concerns, but nothing can stand in the way of technological advancement.

However, I find it hard to believe you can't see the point of having robots replacing humans on the front line of battlefields. Wars are no longer fought with thousands of humans engaging in man-to-man ground warfare.

A lot of the technology in the supcom universe already exists in some form. I doubt we will have the tech to produce anything like an ACU in the next century, but progress is being made.
Unmanned units have been on the battlefield for a while now. Drone aircraft can already do everything from recon to precision air strikes. (CIA Reapers are blowing people up in Pakistan pretty much every week) Drones work, so expect to see a lot more of them.
Stuff like 3D printing, magnetic weapons, energy weapons, and cloaking systems are all making rapid progress, but it will be a very long time before they become practical enough and cheap enough to start replacing what we have now.
