Map Variety

I think there is a serious issue which has to be addressed here. There are loads of interesting maps on Forged Alliance that never get played be it in ranked or in custom games. Can someone think of an initiative to encourage people to play underplayed maps so that we can see some of these interesting maps utilised to their potential?

I don't see why.

Some maps are popular because people started to host them, nothing special about it.

I remember a week back I hosted Nuke The Elk with two friends as 3v3 for a good 30min before giving up (at about 400 players online). Apparently the map was "too big for 3v3"... It's a 10x10 map.

People play what they want to play, sadly they sometimes don't know what they want.

That's sad but if you get the game going, and get the game interesting enough to be casted, the map will be played more.

Really no miracle, you need to initiate some momentum.

And from there we'd come to the point of the thread, how do we gain that momentum for new maps? :P Straight up hosting the game with this little interest is quite a pain.
