Hi,
I'm going to shutdown the teamspeak server and switch to mumble soon.
The reasons are as follows :
- Mumble is open-sourced and free. We have a free license of teamspeak, but it's limited to 32 slots.
- The API is easier to use. And Rienzilla made a connector for FAF. It allow you to be auto-placed in a channel with your team when a game starts. You can test it here : viewtopic.php?p=32407#p32407
- It's easier to administrate. The admin interface of teamspeak is a mess, and it's very difficult to register users correctly. I did not tested mumble server extensively, but I can't see how it can be worst.
The drawbacks :
- Less people have it already installed. But it's not like it's a big hassle to install.
- I find the vocal parameters harder to tweak with some microphone.
