Fantastic changes all the time with each FAF patch gradually working towards perfection, but there still some notable absentees from the battlefield. Seeing satellites, stationary arty, Soul Rippers, and all kinds of other previously never seen units in games now, but other things, despite being tweaked, are still not getting built in games. Off the top of my head:
SCUs: The top one for me must be SCUs. These got a huge amount of debate and substantial changes, but still don't seem to be worth the trouble to build. Maybe they just need a really creative player to show their true potential, or maybe they still need more work?
Engineering stations: Don't know if the Engie Mod has effected these at all, but still not seeing them.
Carriers: The 'no building while moving' engine limitation has perhaps rendered this unit un-fixable?
Strat Missile Subs: This was supposed to be the ultimate weapon in the game when Supcom was first announced (anyone remember that awesome beta pic of one multi-launching nukes?), but it remains a why bother type unit. Is there any point building these?
Air Staging Facilities. T3 Air spam is still popular, so staging facilities should still be usefull, but people still dont seem to be building them.
Rhinos: They got several tweaks over time, including the new laser tech, but Im seeing Wagners built on pure land maps, but never Rhinos?
The Tempest: Jokes aside, this got allot of changes, but still no-show. Maybe it was a unit built for a non-existent role?
*My own personal mad pipe dream is to combine the Tempest and Czar into one unit that can submerge to hid from fighters, then surface and fly over targets with its beam!
EDIT: Sorry I meant the Tempest, not the Atlantis. I do see the occasional Atlantis*
