Don't have anything specific to say except "OMG blow up planets booooooom! whheeeeee!", and "you think kickstarter is a viable business model for a production quality game?", though this seems to be not quite triple-A, but bigger than an indie game (*shrug*). Either way, seems that if you have a good idea, Kickstart is a way to gain capital and a fan-base (which I'm sure will double as beta-testers and on Steam :p)
Either-either way, im already play this game and its a blow!
Planetary Annihilation is a game that is basically the spiritual successor to one of the best RTS's ever made, Total Annihilation (and effectively its other spritual sequel, Supreme Commander and Forged Aliance).Where i think FAF still rule.
Where most RTS's today focus ever more on smaller and smaller scale conflicts and squad level tactics, what defined TA was HUGE armies of hundreds of units waging massive, metallic warfare on each other simultaneously over land, sea and air. Literally, unlike other RTS's, TA had a relatively flat tech tree and you could immediately start off building units for air, sea, and land battle.
