Why seraphim glaciers doesn't belong in the ranked? (Answer: IT'S OP WHEN YOURE PLAYING AS SERAPHIM)

1. First of all, the map is way too big for ranked where you are looking for normally 30min games at max
2. It's all water, which makes it way too easy for seraphim units like zooeys (easy map control and devastation of enemy mexes on islands, no need to build t2 fac for floaty units, nearly hard to counter easily and mass-efficiently)
3. Once the game gets to the end game, well again the map is all water, you will see sera t3 subs and the game is all over.
4. The sea causes problems later on when for example a sera T4 bomber kamikazes your base and leaves no wreck since it falls to the deep sea (win - win situation to the sera, no wreck left for the other player to reclaim, which certainly should be a matter to consider when sending a such a glasscannon to another's base)

Also, this replay shows how a "strategy game" can be won by spamming the OP sera units that require next to none tactical eye. IMO the game would be fine without the 4th race.

I am welcome to comments on how the game could be won by the red player? Pay attention on how the dominant navy becomes obsolete when the blue player starts to spam t3 subs.

It's clear that the blue player has better eco in the end game, but is crippled several times to the same level as the other player, and rebuilding takes mass, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Phim OP? You have to be kidding me. But to address your points:

1. There is no reason why 1v1 has to be limited to small maps. A lot of players prefer large maps in a 1v1 setting that can't normally be found in custom games.

2. Fobos are a huge and important factional strength for phim. While they are quite useful very early on and in drops they are hard countered by tanks, gunships, and frigates. These units can clean up fobos easily.

3. Have you considered countering the subs? They can be countered by coopers, atlantis, HARMS, torp bombers (use surface dps to attack if they surface), and possibly the mega(haven't tested this by it actually has kickass torps and health).

4. If you let a t4 bomber get to your base the game is over anyway. If you lose air they could just build strat/torp bombers and snipe you anyway.

(Note I haven't seen the replay, typing this on a computer w/o supcom)

Honestly, it sounds like someone was toying with you..... all those methods are 100% counterable, and can be done so no problem. If he built a t4 bomber in a 1v1, I guarantee you that he could have killed you 10 other ways, but wanted the laugh.

Watch the replay, see what he did, and learn to counter those strategies. If you put your head to it, you will come out a much better player!

I enjoy this map more than some of the HUGE no mass flat ones 2 frigates could kill ~30 "zooeys" from one island to the next without even getting hit.

I would love to know the win ration between factions, I would assume it would go Aeon>Cybran>Sera>UEF.

I like Seraphim Glaciers, it is not that long, and we have to have some navy maps, some drop maps, some big maps, not only 5x5 10x10 maps

and actually seraphim glaciers not much about eco, it is more about win navy while eco and keep expansions, also it has ACU drop possibilities wich is very good too.

If you remove Sera Glaciers, you have to bring Roanoke back, but i personally do not like it so much...

Who ever said that ranked maps has to be small anyways? >_<

What I see is 2 T4 bombers leaving no wrecks when falling into water. Also, you were out-ecoed ALL the time. His mass income is higher than yours, always.

I loved it, actually. So many mukes, lol. Supcom gold. (just a pro tip: don't rage so much, it's only a game)

and thouse games are not very long, i did not saw you replay but i bet you are not agressive enought

also this map make possibilities for interceptor 1rst wich is very annoyng agains someone who get transport 1rst

Please watch the replay to get a grasp of the situation.

I agree that the artillery is only a factional strength, but that's why it gives an unfair advantage in ranked play on an all-water island map.

The thing is, I think these things listed here lead to my defeat, rather than just "not countering the subs properly" or "being toyed with".

If you watch the replay, you can see that I am the aggressive player, but the T3 subs turn the tide, and finally the game to my defeat.

Really, i dont have anything against noobs. But:

I have something against noobs that get ownd by another noob and then say that something is op.

Airfactory started at min 3:50
Energy stall in whole starting phase
second landfactory
1k mass in storrage at min 5
min 5:10 still e-stall
one single drop, even after you killed his engys and artys (btw a very late drop)
many many fails later
constants stream of artys coming over the map, if you play against sera you can expect something like that, scouting, a single frigate or a few bombers would have countered it + you could have got the reclaim
tanks vs artys, no micro, all tanks die, fail
actually a few quite good plays later
t3 air spotted, at this time you had an advantage, the artys did NEAR TO NOTHING
by far not enough engys support airfactory, no scouting at all so you can react in time to subspam (by building coopers)
min 30 you have like 400 lobos in your base WHY
anyway you stillhave big advantage, but still no reaction to subspam
etc etc etc

so yes, sera glaciers is hard to play, yes it can be anoying to play BUT
you lost this game because you failed after you had advantage, not because of the map and not because of enemy beeing sera, i suggest you to improve your playstyle rather than flaming about something beeing op

sorry if that was to harsh but it had to be said
