Idea for the Lobby chat

Postby Mond » 19 Feb 2012, 18:08

Hey,

I just wondered if it would be possible to implement server side messages to inform about player joining or leaving the chatroom? It happend to me that I spoke to a person and didnt notice he was already gone. That wouldnt happen if there is a message like: xxx left.

Not really important, but nice to have IMO.

I think it should show such only for friend list.
I saw the mess when it showed every user joining/leaving... it didn't look nice

I have that on my IRC client. You really dont want that in your FAF lobby. Only about 10% of stuff on my IRC screen is actually chat, the rest is people leaving/joining games and various other things.

Maybe as an option so the user could decide if he likes to see it?

The option is already there in the code, I need to make a setting out of it.

Please post it as an enhancement request on the bitbucket tracker if you like to see it built into the game with distinction of friends etc. coming on.
I waited ten years for Supreme Commander (1997-2007)
and have not a single day felt disappointed with it!
