Create a custom game with password ;)
Not sure what happen to the rating ...
Otherwise the best way to learn ... Play one custom game and analyse the replay ...
Watch replays or youtube videos, take a look at the trainer team forum ...
My native language is not english, please correct me, because I want to improve my skills # Resource Overview

And don't worry about ranking points. Early on you go up an down really fast. And enable cheats is indeed a good way.

P.S. And fresh blood is always good :)

Do not worry about ranking points, pls do not play unranked, it's unsportsmanlike and unessesary, global rating is no longer shown because people didn't understand that it is a way to balance games and no highscore.

I think you got me wrong.

I absolutely do not care about rank points. My friends have never seen supreme commander before. I will have to tell them about the game while we play together so the ranking system will give me unnecessary points for a game thats only purpose is to teach people without any knowledge of the game. I do not want unnecessary points. I prefer playing with people of my own skill.

It will not affect your rating significantly, trust the system :)

You could also change the game speed to "adjustable". For as far as I know, this will also stop your game from affecting the rating. Then you can also speed the game up or slow it down at the time you think it'll help you and your friends.
