inb4 - thats good bomber micro.

I've been out for a few months playing other games, but tonight i decided to get in an try a few games for fun, yes i am very very rusty.

Ok so at first its some early t1 bomber micro for dropping extra bombs and what not... that part is fine if you like bomber micro.


Look at when the t3 Bombers show up, the Pink colored player is bringing them in to bomb and fly over and off the screen, then getting them to bomb from off the screen, the glitchy part i find questionable, is how they stop the instant they get back on the screen, and fly back off the screen, and manage to completely run another bomb run from off the screen entirely.

He does this over and over, and all the fighters that are in the area lose contact with the off screen unit the moment it flys off again.

Seems fishy if you ask me, cause i had enough t1 ints to take it down if not for this.

ok by offscreen you mean off map...?

I thought we fixed offmapping a while back. How is he doing this?

the bomber is going off map for its normal turn which is fine but he stops it right as it gets on map, so technically he's not exploiting anything, he's just got really good timing. Also the second time it's just an attack command, you guys should really watch the replay from Carly's (pink guy's) perspective, you get to see all the commands. Also the two bombers at the end it looks like he screwed up his micro, i don't think he purposely flew them off map.

omg it is rohan... place base AS CLOSE TO MAP BORDER AS YOU CAN, then complain about offmap, epic map design

On that mapsize you kinda have to if you don't want main bases in TML range..

The point is that a well-designed map wouldn't make that kind of base placement even desirable/possible. Look at (shudder) Setons, for example? How many bases do you see built on the edge of the map there? None, because you can't.

If you want to keep the playable area separated from the map borders you need a ring f impassable terrain around the map. That can be water in some cases, which is fine, if you want a water bases map. But in other cases you need a ring of mountainous/ hilly terrain. Though then every land based map would need a ring of mountains around it which would be horrible from a variety point of view. Saying every map that features no border area is badly desgined is kinda questionable. Especially given the great number of established ladder maps that don't.

But maps like GapOfRohan and Vale of Isis for example are by far the worst
