As you are building this nice system, could you include the following things:
- avatars, same or better than in gpgnet (player profile)
- builtin Mumble, (if it's open source licence allows).

And I'm planning improved Teamspeak integration in 0.8 or so. There is an automatic link in the lobby to join the FAF Teamspeak for now.

Auto-Channel creation (even secure channels, maybe) depending on teams, possibly. Not sure what is possible and whether more important things come.
Clan support will probably be coming, and private chat channels and private teamspeak channels are a possible feature for that.
