There are people out there, like me, who have been playing in 3599 land forever and are relatively new to FAF (3612).
I would like a list, or reference, of generic tips/tricks to help the transition to 3612.
To start off, I have noticed the following (old news to most people, but I still would like to help):
(1) The overcharge mechanic is completely different. You must build energy storage now in order to have enough energy to overcharge.
(2) T3 air nerf. This was needed and completely changes a lot of things - no longer will ASF swarm=win and no longer will a strat snipe=win.
(3) T1 bomber buff. Now, t1 bombers are actually not worthless in combat. I've used them for early harassment and killing engineers before, but now they're viable for combat too.
(4) T3 navy is now viable. It's cheaper and builds faster.
(5) T3 bots>all. It seems that many games involve a T3 bot rush. I have seen a return of the titan and loyalist and not so much t3 AAB (percy, brick)
(6) Early spam can be key. Since the ACU has no overcharge, you can indeed now overwhelm an ACU with t1 tanks. Gone are the days when early, you could send your ACU alone and survive using OC.
(7) Lots of mercies - I can't comment on their power, but I can say that I'm seeing them now whereas in 3599 they were pretty much absent.
(8) Rankings - now you no longer need PT to know when the teams are stacked and you're wasting your time playing a given game.
(9) Replays have comments - I think this is VERY cool. I love being able to watch a replay and see the text that the players were using during the game.
(10) More people! For the last 6 months or so, it took me about 10 min average to join a game and play. FAF has more players and more games than GPG has had for a while.
(11) Sea Reclaimables. This is a huge difference when also combined with T3 navy being viable. Now, like land battles, you need to think about an attack before you give your opponent a giant mass donation.
All of this information probably will meet with a "well duh" response from the veterans, but I wanted to start someting for people like me who were 3599 until GPG was abandoned.
