Cybran Co-Op Campaign Teaser

Missions:
1. Red Rift - humans start far west.

2. Water Dragon - humans start far west.

3. AwarE Wolf - humans start far north.

This is a series of missions against the Cybran Nation.
Two humans of any faction verses two Cybran AI.
All maps should be setup as TeamPlay against 2 teamed Sorian Turtle AI.
Two or three humans in the West or North verse the AIs in far South or far East.

Adding more than two AI will make the AI weaker.
The only difference between my maps and any other custom map is that I provide a full set of FA AI markers that have been extensively tested to ensure the teamed AI will put up a strong battle. You will notice an incredible difference in AI strength compared to a non-optimized map. You will not need cheating AIX AIs to experience a very good fight, just use Sorian’s brilliant Turtle AI.

Generally all TeamPlay games are Land/Water and no Air. If air is allowed the battle will be easier for the human team if they know how to defend against Air experimentals. With Air restricted the AI’s economy will be much better and a broader range of AI tactics will be seen.

At present there is no way to upload maps for FA… GpG Vault is no longer with us and the upload is not working at strategyinformer.com or here at FAF Vault.

Yes it's working, but not for all of AwarE's scripts in the current version. I'll release an update tonight, Squirrel recently fixed these things.

I just tried the FAF Vault upload again and it worked fine.
Thanks to the FAFteam for getting the bugs out.
Thanks also for the confirmation box “map successfully uploaded”
5 new maps uploaded without error.

Btw … I do not use a special script, as I mentioned above the only difference between my maps and any other custom map is the thousands of game tested FA markers. These are in the *_save.lua.

Nah, the script wasn't so special but there was something in it that the parser didn't quite expect. It was definitely a niche case in the parser. I didn't know if I had the fix in the live build or not, good to see it's already live.

Thanks for making & sharing these cool scenarios. 8-)

It wasn't the parser, but the data preparing function and some regexp in it :?

The scoring system is telling me that only Assassination mode games will be scored in future.

All TeamPlay Co-Op missions are setup in Annihilation mode so from now on they will not score.

The reason TeamPlay uses Annihilation is because it is much harder to win than the simple Assassination mode. The Sorian Turtle AI will still do quite well even after the loss of its ACU. Also in TeamPlay the game length(time) is an important factor that needs to be related to the score. I have considered using a timer that shuts down the game after a pre determined time period with 'Mission Failed'.
All AI units destroyed... Expert 1hr, Hard 1hr:15, Medium 1hr:30, Easy 2hrs.

The 'Mission Failed' script would also be handy for when a human loses his ACU. In TeamPlay missions it is ok for the AI to lose one or both ACUs but it is not ok for the human team to do the same. When any ACU is lost on the human team the mission should be restarted. You could say that the AI attacks in Assassination mode and defends in Annihilation mode.
lol ... thats about as clear as mud.

It seems we need a separate scoring system for Co-Op games.
