Offmapping commander worth reporting Score?

Postby Rasmuffin » 28 Mar 2012, 06:38

Hello FAF community,
Strait to the point: I Joined a 1v1 game vs Master_Lee, whom I didn't realize was #12 on the global ladder at the time.
This was a dumb game with 20NR, No Air, No nukes, 2X res, No game enders, but that is besides the point. The game ensued, and I destroyed all of Master_Lee's units except for his commander.
His Com was pushed off the map to the far left of Isis at 20:22 into the game. I have heard about this being possible but had never had it done to me before. I have the replay if anyone want to watch it, but since game replays stopped hosting FA replays I haven't bothered uploading them somewhere.

He then goes on to stay in the game while I search on forums to where and how I can kill the hidden commander. About an hour later I finish him off.

I'm just wondering if I should report the score. If the player abused game mechanics will this lower their rating if deemed valid by an Admin? Anyway, I have not reported the game scores as I was victorious, but just wondering if I should have.

I don't mind avoiding Master_Lee in FAF, but I felt I should at least pass this on to the community.

Offmapping is looked down upon, although I don't think there are any official rules against it.... that's a d*** move though.

Funk is right, there are no rules against it. Its just a cool thing, if you do it, your not cool.

I am really not trying to be rude, BUT if you play a "No Air, No nukes, 2X res, No game enders" its going to be hard to end the game when some loser is being a #$%&*($

But don't worry to much, someone like that will get whats coming to him.

Actually, isnt this a bug that should be fixed? Is there any legitimate reason why we'd want to allow ground units to be pushed offmap?

Just introduce a global force that shoves ground units back inside the map when they exceed the boundary?

NVM, master_lee is gaining quite a reputation for being a douche, he abuses terra forming bugs and is extremely abusive if he looses. If you play with him, YOU WILL LOOSE. He stacks the game just how he likes it so when you do loose, dont complain you have been told.
I will be honest here, I would like to see him totally removed from the server.

I don't want him removed. I just want everyone to know what to expect if you're playing him.

Expect a exploit laden 20min nr game where it's stacked and you have really no legitemate chance of winning.

Since I don't like 20min nr, I don't much care. But, as other have said here, he only plays these games where they're stacked and setup to his favor. So be it, nobody has to join his games. I know I don't.

Still, banning an exploit should just be a temporary measure until the exploit is fixed.
