Can't install latest Forged Alliance Forever update

Hello,

I just recently started playing Forged Alliance using Forged Alliance Forever, and it is pretty awesome! Unfortunately for me I cannot get the new version (FAForeverLobby-570.msi) installed because it claims that I am running on a virtual machine, which I am not. I had the version associated with FAForeverLobby-566 installed just the other day and it was working quite well. The error message that comes up reads "Forged Alliance Forever cannot be installed on systems running on virtual machines".

I am running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, and I DO have a virtual machine running under Hyper-V, but that virtual machine is used primarily for torrents and it doesn't have anything installed on it other than uTorrent and some security software. I have tried turning off the associated VM services to see if that makes any difference and it does not.

My computer has more than enough resources to run a small VM in the background and FA, so that shouldn't be an issue.

i7 2600k @ 4.8 ghz (prime95 stable for > 48 hours)
16 GB RAM @ 2133 mhz (prime95 stable > 48 hours)
XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB
2x Corsair Force Series GT 120 GB in RAID0
etc, etc

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

It's Advanced Installer - and MSI - way of detecting VM that must be incompatible with windows 2008 server.

I don't know how you can fix it. As far as google tell me, that OS run like a giant VM.

Hello,

I have the same error message "forged alliance forever cannot be installed on systems running on virtual machines"

I am running under windows XP and no, there is no virtual machine.
So, I will be unable to connect if no fix and since I see this post was made 8 days ago I dont have confidence to connect in the future.

Fix your problem on your side. It's a standard MSI installer, nothing special about it.

I have no virtual machine. I have no idea to what to do.

And I have many things to do beside wasting hours trying to understand something I have no idea what is the problem.

I am getting the Virtual Machine error though I am not running FA nor attempting to install FAF on a VM. Might want to rethink how you're approaching this with the issues it appears to be causing

Not possible, it was removed in the MSI.
