FAF wont open, does not even say connecting

Hello, I just installed FAF on a windows 7 machine,
but when I try to open it up, nothing happens, I watch the task manager and I see the process start, and then 10 - 15 seconds go bye and it disappears.
the log is no help, it just shows one line for application start per attempt I make to open it up. nothing else.

I can trace-route to faforever.com no problem, no firewall.
