Haven't been having problems, but now this happens

I have had FAF for about 3-4 days now, and have been joining and playing multiplayer games just fine. I told a friend about it, so he went and got FAF as well. We are trying to do a 2v2 against AI. A message keeps popping that says "Desync Detected" and then it says his username and shows the beat number. It happens around every 50 beats or so. Some things that are different from other games I've played on FAF are as follows:
-I've never tried playing with AI on FAF yet
-I've never tried playing a game with someone I knew (I know that shouldn't matter, but I'm just putting it out there)
I've looked online and found that the Sorian AI mod can cause issues in multiplayer. While it hasn't in any of the other games I've played before this, I figured I would try uninstalling it. I had my friend uninstall it as well. Still the same problem.

I'm a computer guy. And I really can't figure what issue could be. The only idea I have is that my friend is using one of those USB wireless internet sticks to connect his tower to the Internet, and I'm on my college's network since I live in the dorms. He has incredibly slow download speeds, so that could be it. Also, while it's never been an issue before, my college's network has a lot of administrative settings in place on it such as a firewall, etc.

Now, I load into the game just fine and can start building with my ACU with no problem. My friend tells me that he can see the map and the desync messages, but nothing else shows up for him. He can't see his ACU or anybody else's.

I believe that is all the information I can give. I will attach the game log from the last game.

If packets are being lost (you mentioned wifi), you can get desyncs. How many times did you get desyncs? Just once? Also, it might be a mod that is causing them. Try disabling all mods you had on.

So the AIs were sorian AIs? Both?

i have a problem with AI in a game when playing with other people.. I believe it is due to a mismatch in the AI versions. Have never bothered to fix it as I dont play with other people and AI however if a fix does come up and I dont have to reinstall FA please post as Ill probably try it.

We got desyncs every time we tried to play, and the message came up on every 50th beat. We were told in the chat lobby of FAF that Sorian AI can cause issues in multiplayer, so we both uninstalled the Sorian AI mod. The two AIs we started the game with were AI: Normal. However, even after uninstalling Sorian AI, Sorian AI options still appeared in the lobby when we were setting up the game, even though we didn't have it anymore. We were playing with AI: Normal because my friend is fairly new to Supreme Commander, so we were starting off easy. The only mod we had on was the AutoAdjust netlag that FAF automatically downloads. We have other mods in our FA mods folder, but AutoAdjust netlag was the only one we had enabled. All others were off.

Try disable mods & use a sorian AI.
Don't listen to people, there is no problems with them and they are packaged with FAF, that's why you still got them.

What was actually said in the lobby was since sorian AI is intergrated into faf already, having sorian ai mod might cause an issue, so I asked him to remove it to check if that was the problem. At no point did we say that sorian ai caused a problem by itself.

Your desync problem is causes by either:
1.\ You and your friend have a different version of the map.
2.\ You or your friend have installed an unnecessary Sorian AI patch in /gamedata.
3.\ I agree with posts above in that any Sorian mods should be uninstalled/deleted.
4.\ Your friend has a software install problem. Check his lobby and patch versions against yours.

There are NO Sorian AI issues causing desyncs in multi-player games. ...they run fast and play hard.
In fact the late game AI play has just been improved. Thanks to Ze_Pilot's latest patch.
Just Select the appropriate Sorian AI from the dropdown list in the game lobby.
Scroll down to bottom for AIx Sorian AI.

A quad [email protected] GHz ....even an old Q6600 will run a 2 Player w/- 1000units on a 10x10 TeamPlay_AI map without going below 0 [normal] speed. Note: Use only 2 AI in the correct start positions.
A quad [email protected] GHz ....i7 can handle 4 Player w/- 1000units vrs 2AI on 20x10 TeamPlay_AI maps.
Multi-player verses AI games on 40x40 maps are very taxing on your CPU. To run 1000 units at normal game speed you would need to use only one Sorian AI verses only 2 Humans.
