Can't join game by error: \init_faf.lua" failed

Today I installed FAF and the lobby worked great! The problem what occurs, is that when I try to join/host a game the FAF gives me an error. The error is very common on this site named:

warning: Running "C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\init_faf.lua" failed: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\..\fa_path.lua(1): `)' expected near `systeem'

I have tried anything that this site came up with, but I just can't get the game running. Supreme Commander FA just runs fine on steam, no error etc. What I have tried to fix this error was:

- Give to all maps admin rights(maps for Supreme commander and FAF)
- Fixed my router
- Initialised the search path.
- reinstalled 8 times ore more(even supreme commander)!
- Deleting init_faf.lua file
- Deleting just installed mods
- And well...... little more things but don't know them anymore.

The error is always the same. I've really seen much forums on this but they just can't fix my error. The Log is:

I am new to forrums so if this file is too long am sorry but I never had any problems with a game so far. If someone can help me, please leave a comment.

You did not mention if you reinstalled FA. Just in case, start FA as single player (not through FAF but through the shortcut for Forged Alliance whether it be in Steam or stand alone) and make sure you have a profile all setup. That is, when you start FA, you should not see a window to create a user name.

If you do see that window, create an account, change your settings, start a skirmish match with the AI, end the game (not EXIT, use the menu to end the game so you go back to the main menu), then exit the game from the main menu. Then try to host or join a FAF game.

Thanks for the reply, but I did make an account and played many games with Supreme commander. So that should be okey. I think it is in the map administration rights on my pc folder, but jea i don't see the problem jet. I have installed the software like this:

Supreme commander ==> C:\Geinstaleerde programma's(niet systeem)\Steam\steamapps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\bin
FAF ==> C:\Geinstaleerde programma's(niet systeem)\Steam\steamapps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\New Folder
FAF Online update?! ==> C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin (the init_faf.lua exits here!)

I hope that these maps are correct placed ore something. I gave on these maps (Geinstaleerde programma's,Programdata) full administration rights, but the conflict remains with init_faf.lua" failed .

I hope that this information will give you more clues for the solution.

You have a ' in your FA path, that is not supported. Probably not the () either.

Lol@ file paths..

@ZEP: () should be supported; Look at C:\Program Files (x86).. that every 64 bit Windows machine 'spawns' with.

Where can I find these terms? Am sorry but I do not understand what you mean by a' in your FA path and () too. Where did you see these terms, and what can I do to fix this error? Little bit more detail please :D! But thanks for the information!

Btw, my systems runs on Windows 7 64 Bit and if you meant () as error and you referred to (niet systeem), thats an foldermap. I don't really think that this will be the problem, because many other gamefiles are installed there.

OMG really that was the issue............stupid...................I changed my map name(C:\Geinstaleerde programma's(niet systeem)) and it worked! Thanks for the help Ze_Pilot! And of course the other users ;)!
