[Sound] Only a few sounds play [SOLVED]

This started happening after the latest update. I get into a game and sounds work fine and then a few minutes in the music cuts and only a handfull of sounds actually work, I'm basically playing on mute.

I was advised to change my sound output device to stereo, didn't work. I was also advised to delete the game.prefs file in appdata and let the game recreate it, didn't work.

So here I ask; Is there a way to fix this?

Edit: Some one said it was about supcom not supporting surround sound, don't know anything more.

When was the last time you restarted your PC? Similar problem was solved by this, give it a try if you didnt restart your pc for a while

I had a problem where each sound would only play once. IIRC, updating my video card drivers fixed it.
