is aeon t2 even worth it?

Is there actually any use of aeon t2 (except shields,MAA,MML)?
The Obsidian would be really useful against t2 units. But since most of the time t2 units will appear with 2 or 3 times the amount of t1 units its useless.
The blaze is a combination of a amphibious tank and an anti t1 tank (its the only useful thing against t1, thats why) and as a result the aeon neither have a useful counter t1 tank and neither a useful counter navy tank (riptides are soo much better for example).
So for me the most efficient way is actually going for t3 as early as possible.
But is there any use of the aeon t2? and if not is it supposed to be useless to outbalance something?
Otherwise i think aeon t2 needs a buff. Aeon is already really lacking possibilities in my opinion. They only have 1 t3 bot, they have no useful t2 tank, and you cant discuss much how to mix arty and aurora. just a few arties to destroy buildings and then auroras
It's kinda similar to the Seraphim (also only 1 t3 assault unit) but they have the t2 bot and very interesting arties...

they have the strongest t2 direct fire unit and they have the best t1 tank, so both together makes overall ok t2
also you CAN say something outbalance something else

i assume you mean the obsidian.
the problem is that if people would fight with 75% t2 unit armies it would be devastating. but because t2 units are 90% of the time accompanied by a load of t1 units the obsidian is barely useful.
It can only do stuff against t2 because the overkill on t1 is crazy.
If battles on t2 would just be like t1 spam battles everything would be fine. but the obsidian is not really worth its cost.

Don't underestimate the hover tanks against naval, in numbers they do pretty good. Although I used to think the obsidians were terrible I think they're ok now. If you are kiting them backwards with your aurora they can help absorb damage and keep units at a distance so your aurora can use their range.

That being said, going straight to t3 harby spam is often a great idea if you can get away with it.

hmm i think 7 auroras are much more efficient than a obsidian and you dont need the tech 2 upgrade.
the obsidian will barely be able to do any damage because of its overkill and short range. and for each obsidian the enmy will have 7 more tanks what is about 175 dps.
even your obsidians cant tank much. in the end your obsidians are propably dead and your auroras got a few shots of.
in any way thats just a way how the obsidians might be of any use. but in comparison to pillars, mongoose, rocket bots or sera t2 bots they are not very useful.

Yeah I guess so, but the more Aurora you have the more vulnerable to bombers you are. So you can mix it up with shields and flak.

yeah for ehm... "support units" t2 is still really useful. but with t3 you get that anyways.
btw doe the flaks and shields of factions have any mentionable differences?
