Right now, the idea when a faction lose all planets is to make them slave of the faction capturing the last planet.

The idea come from when it was planned to have a home planet.

There are many choices I see.
- Really do that home planet thing, and the faction will lose if that planet is lost (no matter how many other they have).
- Not doing anything and keep the idea of domination.
- Change the domination idea and allow the faction who lose to choose the faction they want to play in.
Their ACU will stay like their original faction, but they will have access to both tech.

Opinions?

If you do the home planet thing, what happens to the planets that the losing faction used to own? Like if they still have a lot left but get their home taken?

I like the idea of domination but I want there to be some way to continue playing after your faction is out of the game... I wouldn't want to lose one day and then have the other three factions fighting for the next month without a clear winner.

The % of the losing faction is removed (so the % of the other is increased).
If it was 100%, the planet become neutral.

You continue to play, depending of the option chosen, you decide for whom you want to fight or not.

Also, later they will be some "rogue" agent, you could decide to be one.

maybe each player can individually choose which faction to ally with, so not the whole nation is enslaved by another

for the home planet, i think that if there is some kind of home planet, it should maybe supply some credits / reinforcement units (less credits / units to choose when you lose it), but not be a reason to lose the game right away
the domination idea (be <50% on every planet) seems to be the better idea to me

The problem I see with the current idea is that right now, Aeon are holding an UEF planet in hostage so they can capture it if cybran destroy the last UEF planet.

That can lead to a stand-off (neither aeon or cybran risking attacking so they don't lose the domination), making the game really not fun for UEF.

that's why i suggest individual decisions for when your faction lost, this way it doesn't matter who destroys the faction, and holding hostages makes no sense

also the master-faction won't be able to easily kill the other two at the same time, with the help of their slaves

I think I will go toward that. That was my idea before I've posted this thread, but I want some opinions about what you are expecting :-)

This is why I suggested that in domination, soldiers of the defeated faction (UEF) just go to whichever faction defeated them last. If Cybran killed 50 UFE guys, it makes sense cybran should get them.

homeplanets FTW 1000% of planet life, so you have to spend alot of time and res

also home planet should be unbalanced and favour defencive side

aslo faction who killed other faction will have enemy tech by free reinforceing other faction engineer on minute 1 or 2 that is how i see it.. but if it will be done any other way i am ok with that
