i find it disappointing that there are so many duplicate maps and also that there are so many well known maps from the ladder in the current galaxy. the last galaxy was much better.

You want the old map pool back? Easy enough : register for the map testing team. It will consist of a bunch of guys who will have to check spawn points and probably world borders on a number of maps stored in the vault. The more guys, the less map to check for each.

The testing should not happen randomly in GW with planet numbers but outside of it, with the proper map names, and description of what is wrong.
