Bomber wipes out entire ASF squad - Normal?

During a game today, about 30-40 ASFs were following a group of bombers, at about 38:25 the ASFs all get taken out in one stroke. It looks like the bomb impacted on the shield and took the ASF's with it. Is this working as intended?

AOE (area of effect) damage on bombers is indeed intended, sometimes bomb can even hit ASFs, doing similar damage
