"combat stage" doesn't exist unless you are talking about game enders > t3/t4 arty spam. The fact that people don't build combat units but just eco up is the players fault, not the game.

You can use this argument for everything. 'Losing a nerfed t3 pgen is less of a hit', 'Losing a cheaper hq is less of a hit'. Maybe prevent losing your t3 mex instead? Also it's not like rebuilding a single t3 mex is a big issue. And if you have to rebuild a lot of them clearly something else went wrong and the t3 mex has nothing to do with it.

Same can be said for t1>t2 mexes or t3 mexes > massfabs/sacu's. Eventually the player with more mass income will have a higher and higher chance of winning. Why is the t2>t3 stage the only bad one?
