"Invalid Drive F:\" Error when attempting to install FAF

I have been trying to help a friend install FAF, but they continue to get this message whenever they launch the installer. I believe that the installer is attempting to install the launcher in a drive that does not exist, but I am unsure how to change the installation destination. The error message appears as soon as the installer is launched: "Invalid Drive F:\" and the installation stops. They are running Windows 8, and have their steam games stored between two separate drives. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. I tried searching through previous topics, and through the wiki, but have had no luck.

That is rather odd. Can you have them post the install log?

Alternatively if you copy the installed FAF from another machine that has it installed, it should work as is.

Next lobby client will ship as a .zip archive as well.
