Cannot start lobby. QtGui4.dll APPCRASH.

[d-_-b]

Was playing fine, in a lobby, switched to faf to see chat and noticed the window strangely presented as only as a titlebar, decided to close faf and reopen it, and got this error.

Repaired Installation > Still Issue
Removed and reinstalled in a different location > Still Issue

I dont have qt dlls in my system folder that might be overriding the ones that are distributed with the game.

UPDATE:

fixed with help from downlord and some more revealing exceptions.

the issue was caused by conflicting DLL versions i had from an incompatible version of openssl arguing with uid.dll

removed SSLEAY32.DLL and LIBEAY32.DLL from System32/SysWOW64 solved the issue.
