Hiya,

I've been playing FAF with a mate, Betrayal Ocean map, the two of us against a Sorian AIX Turtle (6x resources, 2x buildspeed). It was fine and we regularly had experimentals to defeat by 10 minutes into the game. Just playing this evening after today's patch patch and the AI barely gets past 6K and just stalls.

Any ideas what's going on?

Yes, my friend and I are having the same problem vs. Sorian AI:Adaptive (not AIx). Gets to about 2K and stalls. Makes for easy pickins, but an un-fun game.

Did the latest patch do something to the AI? Help!

Hi,

Been playing against the computer, but for some reason, lately the AI has been basically doing nothing on all maps except to build a land factory, a tank factory, and then churn out cheap lvl1 units. Then it will gather up these lvl1 units around a mine, and do nothing except shoot back when attacked. I can't get the enemy units to attack my base, and the enemy construction bots will even leave metal patches empty.

I have noticed this odd behavior using both the Sorian AI and the Sorian AIX, on 1v1, 2v2, and FFA.

I didn't do anything to alter the files.

Is anyone having the same problem?

Yes, I have the same issues. I have tried a lot of different combinations to no avail. They simply do nothing except blow up while I lazily build up my economy and go kill them

Same thing for me and a buddy.

AI across the board fails to entertain. AIx Sorian Adaptive is a walk in the park.
All of my replays from friday (24.) show the AI not advancing towards me as well as its engineers standing around.
That is on maps with AI markers, no mods, with refreshed FAF gamedata and a fresh install of FA.
Tried Forged Alliance Forever and The Nomads.

On a vanilla game AI works just as expected.
Thursday evening (23.) everything worked fine.

*Edit: Took the time to make an actual report:
Replay UID: 3682671
forever.log has alot of "Unable to find the .scmap" in it.
game.log contains several errors with AI .luas:
sorianutilities.lua -> attempt to call method `GetUnitBeingBuilt' (a nil value)
unitcountbuildconditions.lua -> attempt to call method `GetUnitBeingBuilt' (a nil value)
engineermanager.lua -> attempt to call method `GetUnitBeingBuilt' (a nil value); access to nonexistent global variable "DelayAssign" (several of these)

*Edit: Added Replay
replay.log shows nothing new

It would be appreciated if people did some more testing with game.logs enabled.

Just wanted to address the issue being prevalent with all AI not only Sorians. Thus, the second threads title was more fitting.

I added game.log and replay for a game with AI Normal. Note that the AI actually scouted and attacked for a short period, befor it vanished into AI Nirvana.

Same scripts same errors. The Warnings around what seems to be the party initialisation information are probably wierd as well.

It didn't attack nor scout and commander was walking between my base and it's.

UPD: I rolled back previous patch and AI works fine with it.
