Try a beer bottle or maybe a keg, more alcohol is the solution really.

I am sure that you have considered this, but I have been using bootcamp+win7+SC/FA on a 2009 macbook pro since, well, 2009. no problems. Its basically just a PC at that point once you are using bootcamp on a partition. Bootcamp has been super solid for me, and is free (yeah, I know win7 is not, but I think you can get a copy for like $15 on reddit/pcmasterrace).

Like I said, I figure you know all this already and are looking for a pure mac solution, so I'll stop here. But if you have questions about bootcamp+win 7+FAF, just ask and I'll share what I know.

PS: also posted in "help" section, but this seems more active, so posted here as well. Hope I did not break rules.
PPS: macbookpro specs (if it matters): 2.8 dual core, 8g ram, nvidia 9600m w 500mb memory, windows 7
