FAF requiring steam linking when it shouldn't

Hi,
I've previously played FAF using Windows, which I no longer use. I hear FAF works OK with Linux+Wine now, so I am giving it a go.

FAF wants me to link to my steam account because it can see I use Steam, OK... but then it also needs me to own FA on steam which I do not - I have a retail copy. To buy it on Steam is 15 USD which seems silly when I already own FA, and further that I've only ever had 1 FA account and only ever intend to have 1.

Any work around?

You can add your CD key to steam and fix it that way I believe. I agree it's a little bit silly...

add your key to steam u'll have steam version =) here like this:

add a game > activate a product on steam > next > next > inset yout key ... done !
