Game crashes after 3-10 minutes

Uploaded last replay and you can watch any replay of me in the vault. Game freezes without error log. No sound stutters, all sounds except ambient just stop like normal (as if I deselect everything). Opponent sees me timing out. Task manager says "no response" for forged alliance. Sometimes the FAF client disconnects too due to TCP error (or something) sometimes not (seems coincidental)

At first i thought the game bamboozles itself when the first units meet (in the 3 min crashes) but ive played games that froze after 40 seconds or 10 minutes. The problem first occured directly after i wiped my old HDD.

yes, its quite painful since i have to redownload because of steam and 12k connection

it worked perfectly well before, proof to never touch a running system

I had a problem a while ago last year - not sure if it is the same problem as yours?

For me the game would play normally, then after a while (randomly it seemed) the FA graphics would freeze (sometimes showing the last view (frozen units on screen), other times FA would go to black screen, regardless which of these occurred FA would show as not responding in task manager and was unrecoverable

turned out for me the issue seemed to be the default ATI drivers baked into windows 8.1 were not playing good with FA
I updated to later versions and problem never returned
