unable to connect after update [SOLVED]

Hey i have been unable to connect after updating this morning. I can log in but cannot see chat, whats new page games etc.

When i log in it tells me im missing the Visual C++ redist https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=5555 which i have downloaded and installed but the message keeps coming back.

I've tried reinstalling Faf, and the Visual C++ to no avail. Now it just tells me when i try to install it that there is a newer version running.

An update to this, for some reason now when i launch FaF it gives me the error then immediately closes it down when i press ok on the error about the missing C++. Im guessing it has to do with this line in the logs

Well i've tried everything i can think of so im guessing it must be an issue with the update. tried installing 32bit version of V++ which didnt help. running win 7 btw. Guessing that others arent having this issue though otherwise there would be more posts/replies so i'll patiently wait.

what is your operative system ? (EDIT: its windows 7, I missed that)

the VC 2010 you installed is the correct one so, it should have solved your problem, maybe you can try a clean install , follow this guide :
http://forums.faforever.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11701&p=119622#p119622, then download clien from here : https://github.com/FAForever/client/releases make sure your desktop shortcut has no compatibility mode or admin rights

So, you're missing a compatible version of kernel32.dll for some reason -- I haven't encountered this before and I can't tell you what you need to do to solve it, sorry. Please do reply here if you find someone who knows about it.
