Client update process silently stops/not running

Postby Argon » 30 Mar 2016, 22:50

Hello.
Last 2 month the FAF's self-update system never suceeded and I had to manually download last version. It seems nobody reported about that bug, so I have to that because got annoyed.
I have two bug scenarios:
Scenario 1: Faf-client opened but update message not shown, so I have to restart faf. (In that case I can use faf menu tabs to navigate but it contents not laded.)
Scenario 2: Client shows update message, I agree. It downloads data but when process reaches 100% and faf closing down - the self-update process not started. Looks like update process just silently dies at some point. It is most common scenario.

In last month this second scenario happens in 9 of 10 cases, last 1 of 10 is for scenario 1. No success at self-update at all.
System: win 7 SP1 32 bit. Antivirus protection on/off not affects on this behavior.

Hey Argon,

That's pretty bad. I'm unfortunately unable to reproduce this myself, and the logs do not show anything about the updater dying, so I'm not sure how best to proceed.
