Mods Manager corruption

Hello All!

After the FAF went public yesterday the mods manager is corrupted.

If you click on it ingame it does not show any mods- it shows 1 mod by default and even that you can not click.

How to resolve this problem? Deleting Faf core files did have 0 effects, its a code thing.

* Claustrophobia- corrupted
* Diamond- working
* King of the Hill- corrupted
* LabWars- corrupted
* Murder Party- corrupted
* Nomads- corrupted/cant log in
* Phantomx - corrupted
* Vanilla- working
* Xtreme Wars- corrupted

To Add more

Faf proxy/game mode is corrupting some survival maps. In maps with defense object- the object switches to enemy. I look at the code(untouched) and faf code and there are errors. Civilians and enemy civilians are 2 different things. In Faf code there is error.

Hello zingo7,

i updated FAF 2 minutes ago, and can't reproduce any error related to the Modmanager.

Could you post you game.log ?

You mean logs in faf root?

Yea- made a rar folder including all of them.

I too can't reproduce any of this. All the mods you just show up above are Featured Mods, they work differently from the normal downloadable ones, and some of them have been broken for a while. FAF itself is definitely working.

The Survival thing was detected and fixed just before release, and I tested it personally on 4 different Survival maps. It should be working as intended.

Could you list the exact mapname and version you're seeing the error in?

Hello zingo7,

yes, those logs are the right one. (game.log shows the errors inside the game like modmanager etc)

"game.log" only logs the last gamestart. And at your last gamestart you dont changed (tried to change) mods, so there are no errors inside the log.

But i could see, you have many mods mounted that are not compatible with gameversion 3652. (They cant crash the modmanger, but will crash the game if enabled)

Please start the game, play a little bit with the modmanger (and produce errors inside the game.log). Then post the new log.

meanwhile my guess;
Maybe you have some mods installed inside your "gamedata" folder as *.scd file.
Go to this folder on your HDD:

D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\gamedata\


I dont have the steam version, but this are my original files as example:
    ambience.scd
    editor.scd
    effects.scd
    env.scd
    loc_DE.scd
    loc_US.scd
    lua.scd
    meshes.scd
    mods.scd
    mohodata.scd
    moholua.scd
    objects.scd
    projectiles.scd
    props.scd
    schook.scd
    skins.scd
    textures.scd
    units.scd

Check all files inside gamedate, if there are original. (original files should have all the same timestamp)
Delete all other files.

Alright then. will try to make this compact-ish.

Played a bit on multiplayer.
As we all know miracles don't happen but after reading above comments went off to test them and yes

I can't reproduce my problem anymore. The logs in my first post contain the error and the logs now- they do not.
So if you want to compare them- a person with a lot of patience will find the problem.

I still cant log in nomads game mode however.

What did I do that may have fixed this?...:

I did host some games using drop down option before you host your game. You can choose a map and mods and host it that way- I think that overwrote anything that was wrong when you hosted the game inside lobby as i have full access to my mods now.

Also the survival maps that contained the building which turned enemy is now your ally. Thats working too now.

Ofc maps like "Sh1R3_Mycelium2_Survival_4PFixed" i think are bugged from birth and dont play well with mods in general.

As well as tvg and other mods that are incompatible(waiting their update).

The steam version is clean. No mods there.
I have the regular one in my games(non steam) and a mod folder in my documents that contain almost 200 mods(dating back to GpGnet times, yes Ive seen it all, played together with ROCK or RAG, youll know what i mean.)

So for future- if anybody stumbles across the problem i had- do the workaround I did.
And if you want to find the problem that caused this- compare the logs,
As I really don't have that much patience. ;)

I actually have the same issue you have described. I have been away from home working for a bit and just installed the update and loaded a game. When I go to my game details, it shows all the mods loaded which are defaulted from being loaded the last game, but only 4 mods show in the list.

This is where it gets funny; each time I open the mod manager, the list of 4 mods shifts farther down the screen. I went in and out so many times that they disappeared off the screen.

I will add more later if I can figure this out.

Ok, I found the deal with what was happening to me.

1. Mod "DefencesExpand V 1.0" was hacking up my mod manager. Once I disabled that mod and pulled it out of the folder, my mod manager worked. I then saw the three buttons on the bottom to show or hide disabled mods, player made and ui mods.

2. Games were all fubar'd because of mod "Unholy Alliance V2". When I was landing, my commander was invisible and would allow you to start to build but never finish. It wasn't until I was inside the mod manager that I clicked "disabled mods" and noticed that it disappeared. Obviously someone has figured that out.
