Download hangs 1/4 of the way

So this was happening when trying to update FAF, so I uninstalled it and decided to try a fresh install. Now when I try to download the installer, I get the same behavior. It always hangs at exactly 1/4 of the download.

Ive also reinstalled from the above link & the one on faf's website. same result each time.

please disable Upnp in FAF, menu Options -> Settings -> Game port it appears not to be working on your router Hush
also, this is in part a connectivity issues, please make sure your are not runing internet protection suits/firewalls (includes the router one) when faf is updating

Speedy! that worked partially!!! now it doesnt freeze! it just says 'download not complete'. Small steps!

well, you still have issues so, try to ensure that nothing is using bandwith on the connection, it does nto solve but it helps

if any of your downloads failed, please just go to Options Clear, and clear all 3, otherwise you might end up with partial instalations witch will throw errors

Yeah i've given up haha, guess no more faf for me!

While I was able to download and install the client just fine from GitHub, the problem still persists. Trying to download anything from the servers always results in the download hanging before finishing. Means FAF is unusable for me. Since this problem occurs with multiple different browsers, the FAF client and only with the FAF servers, I suspect the problem is not on my end. (Also tried on an entirely different connection.)

@tellaris: i can't help you wrt the main faf client, but you might be able to use downlord's faf client and still play. link here: http://faforever.github.io/downlords-faf-client/
