Steam Version (&therefore coop) of FA freezes.

Have for a long time now not been able to play the steam version of FA. Have deleted and reinstalled FA via steam but have the same problem. As soon as i click skirmish, the lobby starts fading and freezes with a red tinge to screen. In coop, game just shows black screen. Following are the logs - would appreciate any help possible.

1. go to: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\
2. Make a backup from Game.prefs
3. Delete Game.prefs
4. Try again.

5. If you can play now, please send me you backuped game.prefs, so i can have a look at it.

Ok, there are some mods installed directly inside the steam game.
We should remove them.

Go to

Code: Select all

Z:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\gamedata\

Look at the timestamp of all files. They should be all the same (installation time when downloded from steam)
Delete all files, that don't match the installation time date.

Should be files like:
001TA_Music.scd
LobbyManager.scd

You can let steam verify all gamefiles and reload missing files, if you have deleted to much

Then try again
