After a re-install, I am unable to launch FA via FAF. FA from Steam works. FA from FAF trying to connect to a game brings up a black screen with "Connecting..." in the upper right. Alt-f4 won't close it, have to alt-tab and right-click on instance and select close (or kill from process list). Hitting escape brings up 4 weird options that can't be selected like "_Resume" overlaying "_Start" and "Options" and "_Quit"

I looked at the game.log, and there are a LOT of LUA errors. I renamed the mod directly and tried again. I re-installed FAF to a new directory. I really wanna do multiplayer again but I'm stuck. Able to play through via direct Steam Launch.

I am finally coming here. Any ideas?

This should not be displayed from inside the original globalinit.lua.
This is maybe a modded gamefile. Located in:
d:\steam\steamapps\common\supreme commander\gamedata\mohodata\lua\globalInit.lua

Should be present in:
d:\steam\steamapps\common\supreme commander\gamedata\lua\system\BuffBlueprints.lua

Maybe it could help to verify your gamefiles over steam.

Also go to:

I renamed game.pref, which made the graphics default. I went into single player and set the resolution and such back. I did a "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" in Steam and it said OK.

What should I do about: d:\steam\steamapps\common\supreme commander\gamedata\mohodata\lua\globalInit.lua ? Actually I just checked, and that file doesn't exist. The folder d:\steam\steamapps\common\supreme commander\gamedata\mohodata doesn't exist at all. I see mohodata.scd there... Is that like a packed file?

I think I tried re-installing FA before, should I try that again? Basically, just deleting game.pref didn't change any behavior when launching from FAF.

I delete the local game cache in Steam and installed to a different drive. I'm able to get back in! Thanks!

Thanks for you detailed reply.

Yes, mohodata.scd is a ZIP file. just rename it to mohodata.ZIP and you can unpack it.

Reinstalling only works, if you delete all odd files manualy. This is because the deinstaller only removes files that was orginal installed from the installer. All mods or additional files will left, and still be there if you install the game at the same folder again.
This is also the reason why we always delete game.prefs if we track errors.
