Forged Alliance 3659.exe downloads every time [SOLVED]

Everytime I attempt to host or join a game, Forged Alliance 3659.exe gets updated. As, currently, I can only get into a game with any reliability on a tethered mobile connection, I cannot afford to download 11mb for every game, just to get into the lobby. When successfully opening the lobby on a Lan connection, it also downloads the exe update every time.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Please deinstall FAForever.

Now the most important part:

Go to:
"C:\ProgramData\"

and delete the whole folder
"FAForever"

Now you can reinstall FAForever and try again.

Can you explain the reason, please? What can go wrong with that?

Thanks for your help, and I too would appreciate a clarification of that.

However, this has not resolved the issue, as after uninstalling, deleting folder, and then reinstalling, it still attempts to download the exe and still freezes at 18%.

Aight, no further follow up on this so I am going to mark is as Solved: Unsolvable.

The reason why you dont should start FAForever as admin is simple.

Starting FAForever as admin, will cause that all files are written on the HD with admin rights.

If you now start he FAForever as normal user you are not allowed to overwrite those files.
You can't update ini files or download new files without the permission to overwrite the old files.

Last attempt. Donwload the following archive and copy all files from inside the "archive-bin" folder to your bin folder in: "C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin"
Downloadlink: http://faforever.uveso.de/FAForever_bin.zip

This will overwrite all files with the latest version.

Then try again.
