Website Twitch Integration issues and more :)

Postby freethought78 » 26 Sep 2016, 00:49

Hi everyone.

To whom it may concern: I came to the site to download the FAF client, and right next to the downloads tab I notice that there is a tab for viewing current livestreams.
I was very interested to check out the live streams so I clicked the tab and was presented with this error:

----------
Warning: file_get_contents(https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/streams/?g ... offset=-20): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request in /usr/share/nginx/html/wp-content/plugins/TwitchWP/inc/Twitch.php on line 48

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /usr/share/nginx/html/wp-content/plugins/TwitchWP/inc/Twitch.php on line 52
-----------

I'm just making this information available for any devs who might be responsible for correcting the problems.
I'm also already aware of the stickied list of casters in the forums here, and I'm also aware I could manually search for streams on twitch.
The purpose of my post is just to help out and make the responsible parties aware of the error if they are not already.

As an aside I'd also like to point out that finding the answer to the security question for signing up to the forums was a bit harder than what I personally feel is necessary.
I tried searching for the name of the designer of FAF first, when that didn't help I tried searching for the name of the designer of Forged Alliance. The correct name doesn't appear in the wikipedia article for Forged Alliance either. Maybe Its just me, but it would have been just a bit less frustrating to know more precisely that I was looking for the name of the designer of the original Supreme Commander Specifically, rather than just seeing his initials as a hint. I almost gave up on creating a forum account in order to post the error message on the site.

edit: Also I originally included an image of the error rather than copy/pasted text from the site, but the restrictions on my account as a new user prevented me from doing so, and I switched to the copy/pasted error that is here now. This is after taking the screenshot and uploading it to a persistent online location so that it could be linked into the forum post. I received the warning: "Your post looks too spamy for a new user, please remove off-site URLs."

tldr; I experienced site problems, tried to report them here, spent around 20 minutes just trying to report them with this post.

That is all commanders, happy fighting!
