cx_Freeze: Python error in main script [SOLVED]

Hi,

When I try to open the FAF client, all I get is a popup, with this as the heading.

the rest lists a bunch of locations of files relating to Python27, etc... has anyone had experience with this?

on another note, I had to re-create my account after a year or so of not playing. Is that to be expected?

You should try to find a log for FAF. Without log details, no developer/technical versed forum member can help you. The error message you have is quite generic and won´t help much in helping you.

Also, if you have consistent problems with FAF, you could always try to use Downlord´s alternative FAF client. I haven´t had a look at it, but people praise it constantly on the forums.

No. Why did you have to recreate your account? Why didn´t you simply get your password reset? It´s right there in the client options.

I did try to reset my password, but it said there was no account under my username or email. I double checked that it was correct, comparing it to the confirmation email from the last time I signed up (in 2013)

I'll lake a look for a log, and see what I can find. Thanks!

I found the logs folder for FAF (in C:\\programdata) and the most recent ones are from the last time I used FAF back in april. Here is a screen cap of the error message, hope that is enough for someone to work with!

Yeah, seems your problem has been solved. And of COURSE you won´t find a log, if it clearly says in the error message, that it can´t write to the log ( permission error forever.log ).
