Game stutter

Postby Mr-Smith » 26 Oct 2016, 20:09

Hi guys,

I just got myself a fresh FA and FAF installation, on Win 10.
now my problem is that i got pretty hard laggs ingame, usually when i try to start a new building, or when i build units,.
ren_networkstats will show me some dataloss for me, means the data drops from 20 down to 13-19 for 1-2 seconds.
i dont see anything in the log file ingame.

So my guesses are, its some hardware problem with readspeeds from my harddrive. whatever no idea,
i got FAF installed on my main SSD.
while i got FA steam version installed on my second HDD.

Im already running it in compability mod win 7, as win 10 seems to not allow me to run it at all

hope you got an idea

I am running it without compatibility mode on my windows 10 just fine. Using compatibility mode is sure to add some kind of overhead to the system, so getting rid of that would probably be good.

During game, there should also be next to none activity on the SSD, because most, if not all, needed assets are loaded into RAM. So HD activity I want to shut out as an issue. ( My installation runs on a regular 500 GB SATA Drive )

Things to test:
1) Can you run SUPCOM:FA as a standalone ( e.g. Start the Steam version ) without the stutters?
2) Hardware Tests like MemtestX86 show your hardware is ok?
2.1) Incidentally: Do you noticy any performance issues in other games?
3) Do you have any kind of exotic hardware ( like a RAID Host Adapter ) in your machine?
4) have you tried reinstalling SUPCOM/FA/FAF ? I heard sometimes it does help. Like clearing the data cache and stuff should also be looked into.
5) have you made sure you are NOT using any mods on the game?

That´s all I can think off for now.

No need to lock the thread. Just take the time and mark the topic as "Solved". It´ll be marked with [solved] in the thread overview.
