Not sure what your issue is. Your explanation is kinda lacking.
But it sounds like you have trouble installing the FAF lobby?

dfaf stands for Downlords FAF client, which is an alternative client to the main one. Since the installation of the main client fails, you should try the alternative.

don't download the update fa_patch 3603.

Simply install SC:FA and then install FAF lobby or Downlords FAF client (this is an alternate lobby but it uses same server so you see the same players with both clients) , the lobby will download the appropriate patch.

I have question for this alternative client...

- He can install update and mods (and maps) like FAF ?
- If my friends play on FAF we are compatible ?

Yes the 2 lobbies use the same chat, same games, same everything, but its newer and has some different features (like achievements). But it doesn't split the players in any way.
It also downloads all patches just like the standard faf client does.

So no need to worry.

Hope it works for you. If not someone with more knowledge should come to the rescue.
