I mean, seriously, these problems are just killing the community of the game.
I am not proficient on computers and only have an elementary knowledge of programming
(self-taught).
But I do know I have always been on the same connection since the beginnings of FAF(desktop through ethernet). Always able to connect
out of the box with every new version of the lobby, until you announced the transition to a "new" code.I have tried to do everything an illiterate
computer joe could and still this does not work. Or works rather erratically, and fails the same way.(no obviously identifiable pattern- and why it would work sometimes
and sometimes not? why was it always working before on the exact similar configuration of my rig?) This happens both on custom games and the ladder.
Replying, by asking people to do things they maybe don't understand and expecting them to self-correct as if they were software
engineers is hardly a solution.
Now all of this may pass as shameless whining, but believe me it is not,
If it requires resources and it is difficult to correct, then you should stop any other
project you are on and concentrate on this.
What is the meaning of correcting the x or y bug , or focusing on subtleties of balance,
and correct selection of maps, or creation of maps , when people can't actually play the game?
I am really grateful for all the hard work you are putting in, but in my view you have somehow lost sense
of what is urgent and what not.
I would not like to see countless new lobby versions, advertising the correction of the Nth bug. I would like to see
a version that actually allows people to play. This would be more than enough.
Now , if you could correct the once awesome ranking system putting people in techs and divisions, it would be welcome
but not necessary.
