Game Freezes on me lately

Hi there,

I've been playing FAF with little issues for a few years now, but in the last 10 days I've had 3 crashes. Well not crashes, the game just freezes on me. As I've said, this seems to be a recent issue so I guess chances are its related to recent changes to the game.

Maybe someone with some knowledge can figure out what is causing the problem and how to prevent it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The online replay is corrupted and my local copy doesn't give me any information.

I just had the same thing happen, first time in over 100 games... Where is the crash log stored so I can post mine as well?

Edit: I've never crashed before in my faf career, which has been a few months, so I have to assume its due to recent changes.

hm ok what I see in this log is:
a lot of spam from some UI mod probably (these lines with !! only)
one player dies and achievement stats for all players are reported as well as the game result (in an 8 player game, not sure if that should happen then)
then the player "MichaelJohnsonUS" disconnects from the game
the game continues
some UI thingy is not found: debug: [uiutil.lua, function UIFile()] - Unable to find file:/textures/ui/aeon/icons/units/unknown_icon.dds
but the game still continues and then the log stops.
No further reports of game results or any error at all which is quite strange...

did you have a smaller window in the background (if you are not playing in window mode its hard to see) showing a hard crash of the game? something like this maybe: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at address 0x004b94f0 ??

If you have this error more often I suggest you play the next few games in window mode and try to reproduce the crash to get the information in the crash window as well.

I had the same problem yesterday as well. Happened 2 times in 1 game. Both times it managed to recover after +-10 seconds. I only had Notify and supreme scoreboard on.

this error is different though, it didnt recover or the log would have continued. So I expect that there was a crash and the game doesnt really show that when you are in full screen mode. So plz swich to window mode and wait for the next "freeze" to happen, then copy the content of the error window and paste it here (together with the game.log).

@Farmsletje: logs? that could have been a short disconnect between two other players and your game waiting for them to reconnect or something completely different...
