Recently I cleaned up the Final Rush 4 survival map. It's Lua code was totally horrible, like apparently most mod and map code around FA. I've written a short blog post on this topic, which can help you write Object Orientated Lua code:

Ahh the sweet smell of good refactoring. This really warms my developer-heart.
It would be awesome if you could write a wiki-article giving some advice to new developers (http://wiki.faforever.com). I'm not sure whether people will find your article in a year or so.
